Earth Laughs in Flowers – Card Folio

Hello, Friends!  My name is Kathy Clement and and I’m a paper addict!  While in a confessional mood, I might as well admit to my passion for ink, paint, stamps, dies and all things crafty. I’m delighted to be Guest Designing for my friends at Little Birdie Crafts today! My acquaintance with Little Birdie happened in January 2018 at Creativation, Arizona and it was love at first sight for me. Little Birdie flowers are so lifelike and realistic that you can create your own virtual garden spot with them.

We are going to do just that today as we create a gorgeous interactive card folio that can also serve as a gift and home décor.

Here’s what you will need:

Products from Little Birdie

  • Fiona Mulberry Flowers
  • Wendy Carnation
  • Rosalind Candy Mix
  • Bernice Purple
  • Foliage Pollen & Tendrils Green
  • Chipboard Damask Delight
  • Leaf Recur Small Stencil
  • Matte Acrylic Home Décor Paint

Other tools and supplies:

  • Graphic 45 Floral Shoppe Collection Paper Packs, Ephemera cards and tags
  • White Net, Iris Shimmer Satin Ribbon & Jute Twine
  • Scoring Tool, Ruler, Stylus, Bone Folder
  • Paper Trimmer and Scissors
  • Wet and Dry Adhesive
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Paint Brush
  • Circle Punch

Here are a few snapshots from my interactive Card Folio:

Select a colorful, floral printed paper pack of your choice (I have used Graphic 45 Floral Shoppe Collection Paper Packs), since this a Spring inspired creation. This 5.5” x 7.5” card folio features a front pocket with a removable bookmark.  Little Birdie Handmade Flowers take the center stage in a bountiful floral cascade.  I have also used Primed Chipboard, Chalk Paints and Stencil from Little Birdie to complete this springtime beauty.

What’s interesting about Little Birdie products is that their packaging is beautiful, and the header cards are made of sturdy paper. I have used some for the bookmark in the card pocket!

Watch the YouTube Tutorial – https://www.youtube.com/embed/EcsiUQWS8b0 to understand the step-by-step creative process. Start by building the card base first and then embellish it as you like. Sharing images of the front, the bookmark, and the inner pockets.

You’ll see how I used Chalk Paint and stencil to add an extra layer of design to the printed papers. Then I created a gift card wallet to tuck some sweet treats inside.

This is a great project for Mother’s Day, birthdays, or any occasion when you want to shower someone special with love.

Thank you all for stopping by! Wishing you joy and creativity!

Cheers,

Kathy
